AAFS Advocate to take Part in Chicago Foundation for Women's Advocacy Academy

Arab American Family Services is proud to announce that one of their very own has been accepted to be part of the 2016 Class of Chicago Foundation for Women’s Advocacy Academy. Dana Jabri is a recent graduate from DePaul University’s International Studies Program, where she received her Bachelor of Arts. Currently, she is a Family Case Manager at AAFS. Dana is a social activist, as well. She participates in an interfaith prayer lead by the Interfaith Committee for Detained Immigrants, where they stand together in solidarity with the families that are being deported. To keep strong throughout her week, she plays rugby for the Chicago Women’s Rugby team and enjoys boxing. Her research interests include, non-profit management and sustainability, integration of refugee communities, and the empowerment of women in underserved communities.
As part of the Chicago Foundation for Women, she will be trained on how to assist organizations that strive to empower women to become advocates in their roles. It will lay the foundation for giving AAFS the additional tools that we need to push our organization to the top.
On behalf of AAFS, we would like to congratulate Dana on a job well done!
