In time for the holiday season, Arab American Family Services is hosting their annual toy and food drive. Anyone interested in participating can donate a *new toy, or nonperishable foods at AAFS, located on 9044 S. Octavia in Bridgeview.
This is the time for giving. We are proud of everyone who helps those who are less fortunate, in their time of need. This week, AAFS received an anonymous box in the mail of used toys.
After calling the number on the box, we were told that a 16-year-old girl named Shadden Zaki from Maryland heard about our organization from her high school’s Rotary Club.
She also happens to be the founder of the sub-club called Interact Club at Walt Whitman High School. She requested that the toys be given to refugees. We informed her that we serve a variety of people and her toys will definitely make a child happy.
These are the kind of stories that make us at AAFS happy, and aware that we are doing all we can to service our communities and people from all walks of life.
So please help us make a child, or a family, feel special during this joyous month.
