Arab American Family Services was proud to be part of the 2015 National Association of Social Workers conference held at the Westin Hotel in Wheeling, IL. The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world. Their goal is to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
This year, AAFS co-founders Nareman Taha and Itedal Shalabi were on hand to discuss two important topics: Understanding and Working with Arab and Muslim Americans in Illinois as well as exploring the experiences of Arab women with domestic violence: practice implications.
AAFS is thankful for the opportunity to discuss such an important topic.
