Hope Is There for Victims of Domestic Violence

At Arab American Family Services, we are proud of our Domestic Violence department for always taking as much time needed to help bring relief and assistance to the victims. Following successful outcomes to sorrowful stories, AAFS keeps in touch with victims who came to us during their time of need.
We are pleased to announce that many of our clients are thriving and moving ahead. Recently, a former client of the domestic violence department came to our office to visit her caseworker. She was excited to announce some wonderful changes that have taken place in her life. She recently found a job doing what she loves and what makes her happy. She is now able to help take care of her young family and make ends meet. As she said it, through AAFS, she found hope where there once was none. She was grateful for our-in person counseling session when all her options and plans were discussed. She took our advice to heart and is now bettering her future, one day at a time.

Another miraculous success story has to do with a client and her young child. She had found AAFS at a time where everything seemed to be going wrong for her. She was a victim of domestic violence and her abuse was becoming more severe with each passing day. She came in to AAFS and was able to meet one on one with our experienced domestic violence caseworkers. Through the Victims Against Women Act, we were able to get her assistance through Life Span.
Recently, she came to visit us and give us the update we had all been wishing and hoping for. Her and her son
had finally received their green card. This was their ticket to break free from the control of their abuser, who was holding them hostage to their immigration status.
These stories are what encourage us at AAFS, and give us the strength to keep moving forward, to be the positive change needed in many lives. If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, please give us a call at (708) 599-2237, or stop by for assistance.
