AAFS Ramadan Food Drive Proves to be Major Success

Following the Ramadan Food Drive, AAFS has collected over 13,000 pounds of food. In keeping up with the spirit of Ramadan, donations were made to those who are less fortunate and were not able to consistently put food on the tables for their families.
For families who qualified, they were given donations of rice, meat, poultry and vegetables.
On Sunday, July 27, the day before Eid al-Fitr, the staff of AAFS rented a truck and donated more food to Iraqi refugees who are struggling. Staff made their way to Bridge to Baghdad, a facility located on Western Ave. and Devon in Chicago.  This facility has become a safe haven for Iraqis who have been displaced following the war.
With this donation, this concluded one of the most successful food drives in AAFS’s history. We are thankful to our donors who have given such amazing contributions.
For this, we say thank you!
