The generous donations of the Arab and Muslim community, this far during the month of Ramadan, has been a joy to witness firsthand.
When Arab American Family Services began hosting Adopt-A-Family 4 the Holidays program 13 years ago, we knew the generosity of the community, would continue to keep this program going strong and successful. We reached out to the community prior to the beginning of Ramadan, asking who would be interested in donating clothes for those who are less fortunate and cannot purchase Eid clothes and supplies for their families.
The overwhelming support from the community has lead this to being one of the most successful years for the event, in over a decade.
Aside from donating clothes, we have received food donations for our community members. With every donation, whether it be clothes, food or money, we are reassured that the magic of Ramadan is still alive, and that this is a reminder that no one ever goes forgotten.
We are thankful to all donors, including Ziyad Brothers, and those who wish to remain anonymous. Your generosity has made someone feel better this month and always. As well as all those who are hosting Ramadan iftars, including Barkaat Foods, for those who are less fortunate. May you be rewarded, always, for your help and caring heart.
