On Saturday, May 17, staff members and volunteers from Arab American Family Services, as well as volunteers from the National Arab American Professionals-Chicago, and Egyptians Abroad for Development, took part in Service Day at A Safe Haven, 2750 W Roosevelt Rd. in Chicago.
A Safe Haven is an organization that helps people aspire, transform and sustain their lives as they transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency with pride and purpose. A Safe Haven also assists veterans and those effected by poverty.
On Service Day, volunteers helped by painting, as well as taking to the kitchen with storing, cooking and serving food to those in need.
Service Day is a time to give back to the community and help those who have been effected by trials and tribulations. AAFS was honored to take part in this event for a wonderful cause.
