AAFS To Take Part in National Arab American Service Day

Arab American Family Services is proud to announce they will be taking part in National Arab American Service Day, which will be on Saturday, May 17, 2014.
AAFS and the sponsors of the event, the National Network for Arab American Communities, are deeply rooted in their local commuinties, providing services to tens of thousands of Arab Americans and community members at large annually, and thus are uniquely qualified to identify the key issues their communities face.
The event works to engage Arab Americans in community service to create stronger communities and make connections among neighbors.  NNAAC and it’s members are uniquely positioned to promote volunteerism and community engagement.
Over the years, AAFS, along with Arab American volunteers and community organizations have taken part in many civic engagement opportunities. Events include working with Habitat for Humanity to build homes throughout the Chicagoland community.
AAFS has also worked with World Vision. Other civic engagements included keeping our forests “green and clean” by cleaning forest preserves throughout Cook County.
Tree planting events took place along Chicago’s famous Lake Shore Drive. This was an event done for the Shedd Aquarium.
National Arab American Service Day is a wonderful community service project. If anyone is interested in participating on Saturday, May 17, please give us a call at (708) 599-2237.
