Arab American Family Services will be at the citizenship workshop from noon until 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 22. Green card holders will be able to fill out a citizenship application, pending the necessary requirements are met.
The event will be at the Benito Juarez High School on 1450-1510 West Cermak Road in Chicago.
Please remember that eligibility for citizenship includes being a lawful, permanent resident of the United States for at least four (4) years and nine (9) months and you can speak, read and write basic English; or if you have been a resident for two (2) years and nine (9) months and have been married to a citizen for three (3) years.
There is a fee of $680 to apply for the U.S. Citizen application, but there is a fee waiver for those who apply, based on income.
