Know your rights!
With the influx of hateful rhetoric and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents shaking up our communities, AAFS decided to host a Know Your Rights Workshop On Thursday, February 9, 2017. The purpose of the workshop was to educate community members about current immigration enforcement priorities while learning about your rights as a community member, regardless of your immigration status. We understand the challenges our communities are facing and we aim to arm you with knowledge that will ease the hearts of you and your loved ones. A few aspects of the program revolve around preparing yourself for an action plan, identifying an attorney and BIA organizations that can help you.
In order to effectively combat the hate, we must educate ourselves and our communities about how ICE works. This workshop teaches you to identify and report a hate crime and report any incidents with ICE to ICIRR’s support hotline.
