As part of our Senior Congregate Meal Program, Arab American Family Services is looking at additional ways to bring our senior citizen community together and give them the chance to enjoy different events.
This week, 33 members of our senior community and their families attended a field trip to the Chicago Botanical Gardens in Glencoe. For many attendees, it was the first time they went to the Botanical Gardens. They had the chance to explore the gardens, share stories and enjoy a delicious meal with friends.
One gentleman brought his flute and began to play the instrument and engaged other seniors and children who were there on a separate trip!
This was the first trip that AAFS hosted with the senior community and we are planning the next one to take place in the next few weeks.
