AAFS On the Committee for the Bilingual Summit for Schools

Arab American Family Services is proud to announce that staff member, Amani Abbasi will be on the committee for the 11th Annual Summit for Bilingual Parents held on Saturday, May 7 at the Hilton Hotel in Oak Brook. The purpose of the Summit is to bring together parents of school students, as well as school boards and educators to help understand parents of students who speak English as a second language.
Parents will have a chance to understand their rights, as well as their children’s rights. And educators will get a better understanding on communication. The Summit is presented in the attendees native tongue. Arabic is the second largest foreign language, after Spanish. This gives parents a chance to help communicate, without fear, and gives them the knowledge to help their children excel in school.
It will provide the tools and resources for students to succeed academically in pre-k through high school, and in their college years and careers.
For more information on how to join the Bilingual Summit, please call AAFS at (708) 599-2237.
