Arab American Family Services was personally invited to attend a public hearing held by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Wednesday, July 16. The hearing was to discuss the preliminary Cook County budget for the Fiscal Year 2015. AAFS co-founder Nareman Taha was on hand to ensure that the Arab voice was represented and heard.
AAFS is taking a leadership role in the community to ensure that the voice of the Arab community is represented and heard, and try to ensure that they are not forgotten from society. We are proud to be a voice for our people and engaging in meetings that help strengthen the Arab voice.
County President Preckwinkle is working hard to make sure all her constituents are heard.
“We are working hard to make County government more transparent, accountable and accessible. As we craft our budget over the coming months, we want to hear directily from residents on their questions, concerns and priorities,” Preckwinkle said.
AAFS is proud to be part of that initiative.
