Arab American Family Services is looking for mentors to take part in our Big Brothers Big Sisters initiative. This is a wonderful opportunity for adults to take on the responsibility of guiding our youth on the right direction and to help make a difference in a youngsters life.
The program will be kicking off in September and mentors and mentees will be meeting two Wednesdays in each month, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bridgeview Community Center on 7900 S. Oketo Ave. in Bridgeview. We ask that mentors please 18 years of age and older. This is an on-site program, there is no travel involved.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a program that allows for youth to be partnered up with adults and turn to them for guidance and mentoring. Whether the mentee needs tutoring with homework, advice on how to deal with teen issues such as peer pressure or bullying, Big Brothers Big Sisters is an excellent opportunity to for friendships and get guidance that will lay the foundation for turning our youth into excellent role models and contributing members to society.
